Kokum Butter is extracted from the seed of the fruit of Garcinia Indica or more commonly known as Kokum tree. Kokum Tree are found in the Western Ghats of India and has been used in Ancient Ayurveda for Pitta Dosha since a long time. It is an emollient, stable butter both chemically and physically. Unrefined Kokum butter is solid at room temperature. Though a solid, it melts when it comes in contact with skin and is one of the most beneficial butter available. Pure Kokum butter is pale brown to yellow in color and has mild nutty aroma. It has deep moisturizing qualities and yet it is a non-greasy, light weight body butter.
